Chiorino SpA acquires Safari Belting Systems, Inc.

Chiorino SpA (Chiorino) a leading Italian manufacturer of light-weight belting and power transmission belts is pleased to announce the acquisition of Safari Belting Systems, Inc. (Safari), a specialized American manufacturer of plastic modular belts and one of the primary belting providers to the largest food processors.

Gregorio and Matteo Chiorino, President and CEO of Chiorino stated: “This acquisition is an important step for Chiorino to offer a complete product mix to our customers, strengthening our market leadership in the food industry, and to support Chiorino’s growth strategy, by leveraging the unique innovative products and superior service capabilities of both companies to deliver the best value solutions and experience to our customers. Founded in 1906 as a tannery, Chiorino, a private Company controlled by the Chiorino family, has constantly developed for over a century to become a reference supplier in the production of conveyor belts with diversified industrial applications such as food, packaging, airports, textile, material handling and wood. Chiorino is headquartered in Biella, Italy and is today a multinational company operating in a global market through 21 subsidiaries and a widespread distribution network in approximately 60 countries.

Safari is the recipient of numerous patents and formulation patents.

Chris Smith has been appointed President of Safari reporting to Matteo Chiorino, CEO of the Chiorino Group in Biella.
